Deepika Padukone’s is certainly not in an enviable position. The actress, one of the leading starlets in Bollywood, was signed up to play superstar Rajini’s lead in his upcoming film dream project ‘Raana’ directed by K.S Ravikumar. Rajnikanth is slated to play
triple roles in the film which was launched on 29th April. Unfortunately, on the same evening, Rajnikanth fell ill and was admitted to a Chennai hospital.
Presently in Singapore, Rajnikanth has had complete treatment to cure his kidney-related ailments. He is likely to return to Chennai in a week’s time or so, reports say. In the meanwhile, some said that Deepika Padukone’s ‘ill-luck’ has caught up on Rajnikanth and that’s why he fell ill and has taken a long time to recover.
Rajnikanth, though, spoke to Deepika Padukone a few days back and told her to be ready to commence the shooting either in late-August or early September. Rajnikanth’s talk must have assuaged the feelings of Deepika Padukone, who must have felt crestfallen after her much-awaited shooting schedule with Rajnikanth went in disarray due to the latter’s illness.
Speaking to newsmen, Deepika Padukone has said, “I spoke to Rajnikanth Sir on phone. His voice sounded as pleasant as it was prior to him taking ill. I assured him that I would surely await his return and would start shooting with him once he lands up in Chennai.”
